Sarah dearstyne
it’s me… hi! Nice to meet you. I’m a NYC professional dancer, and here is a bit about myself.
I was born and raised in Rochester, NY, and grew up dancing at “A Touch of Dance.” I studied dance in college for two years at the University at Buffalo where I performed in the Zodiaque Dance Company. Then I transferred to Anderson University (IN) where I finished my BA in Dance Performance! While at AU I was fortunate enough to sing with the prestigious Anderson University Chorale. I also met my husband at Anderson:)
After moving to New York City I completed the Professional Semester Program at Broadway Dance Center. I have trained across the country with institutions such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Earl Mosley Institute of the Arts, The University at Buffalo, and Point Park University. As a vocalist I placed second at NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) in the collegiate classical vocalist category. All of my acting chops I have David Perlow to thank for. On the average weekday in NYC you can find me bouncing between the coffee shop, the Lagree studio, BDC, and Steps!
Regionally I have performed at the historic Goodspeed Opera House, Ogunquit Playhouse, Asolo Repertory Theatre, Gulfshore Playhouse, and Gateway Playhouse.
I got married in 2019 to my amazing husband, Garrett. We live in Astoria, and have an Irish Setter puppy names Mackenzie! I’m a vegan and love all things cooking/ baking. Molasses cookies are my specialty!
